low fixed media show
Bart Stolle
In recent years, the Belgian artist Bart Stolle developed an intense daily drawing practice, which recently resulted in a brand-new publication. Especially for KRIEG, the artist created 7 unique versions of this monographic publication: each copy contains a new, unique drawing.
The small, meticulous works on paper hint at a strong fascination with computer language and at the same time they show clear affinities with 20th-century modernist art movements, such as suprematism or De Stijl.
Under the title low fixed media show, Bart Stolle (b. 1974, Eeklo) works on a coherent oeuvre that, in addition to drawings and paintings, translates into sound, sculptures, and animation films.
